Noto, the baroque beauty in Sicily.

Our retreat in Sicily, Masseria Danena, is situated 20 mins away from the unspoiled UNESCO world heritage town of Noto (or  coming from the latin, Netum) in the province of Syracuse, just one hour away from Catania airport.

If you love baroque architecture, this is the perfect visit for you!

Every building, every street, every church displays the beauty of this artistic period very popular in Italy and in Europe during the late 17th and early 18th century. Visiting this stunning city is like going back in time and it feels like being on a film set.

Noto is one of the most beautiful historic centers in Sicily with many palazzis, cathedrals and churches. The piece of resistance is the spectacular church of San Domenico built by an architect from Syracuse called Rosario Gagliardi.

The cherry on the cake is that Noto arguibly has the best Ice creams in Italy: Caffe Sicilia is best known for its granite with its homemade brioche. The best flavors are coffee, almond and black cherry or grapefruit, mandarin and almond milk. Delicious!
A great afternoon full of history and beauty and gelato!!
